Creativity, innovation, motivation, and dedication cannot be forced. These are intangible elements that are fostered by inspiration from open environments where people interact freely (encouraging individuals to achieve personal breakthroughs through exchanging ideas, and challenging one another). In my view, Stanford is a great example of this because I believe it is a hub of inspiration, excellence, and growth - comprised of both academic and social aspects in equal measure.

Introducing Stanford Horizon Scholars |

Stanford Summer Session and High School Summer College are excited to invite applications for the inaugural class of Stanford Horizon Scholars. Each year, Stanford Summer Session already invites over a hundred of the Bay Area's top high school students to attend High School Summer College, earning Stanford University college credit as commuting students. Now, through the Horizon Scholars Program, 15 local high-achieving, low-income high school students will have the possibility to attend Stanford Summer Session as commuting students at little or no cost. In addition to a special financial aid package, Horizon Scholars will have access to special programming during the Summer Quarter and at quarterly events throughout the rest of the year. The Horizon Scholars program represents our ongoing commitment to attracting the world's strongest secondary school students as well as our commitment to improving college access to students in the Bay Area. Who Should Apply to the Horizon Scholars Program?Consider applying to the Horizon Scholars Program if you or an exceptional high school student you know are:
