Upload your Stanford ID card photo by May 31

Dear Summer Session Student,

It is very important for you to have a Stanford ID card ready for your arrival at Stanford. The ID card serves as an identification card and as an electronic key. Without this ID card, you cannot enter residence halls, dining halls, libraries, or athletic facilities. You also won’t be able to obtain a Stanford bookstore discount.

In order to pick up your ID card during Welcome Weekend, you must upload your photo by May 31.

How to Upload Your Stanford ID Card Photo

  1. If you haven’t done so already, create your SUNet ID and password, and wait 24 hours before completing step 2.
  2. Go to the Stanford ID Card Photo Submission website, and log in using your SUNet ID and password. On the ID Card Photo site you can check to see if you already have a photo on file or follow the instructions to upload one. If you have any questions please submit a HelpSU or call 650-498-2273.

Please take special note of the instructions provided at this site, including the detail describing browser capability. The upload will not work if you use an unsupported browser.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Students cannot get their photos taken for their Stanford ID card on-campus. This process must be done online before your arrival. If you miss the May 31 deadline, you still must upload your photo online and plan to pick up your ID card on Monday, June 20 at the Student Services Center.

Picking Up Your ID Card

All students must show proof of identification by providing a government-issued photo ID (U.S. Driver’s License or passport) in order to pick up their Stanford ID card. Please be ready to present this upon check-in.

All residential students (who submit their ID photos by May 31) can pick up their ID cards during check-in on the move-in date, Saturday, June 18.

All commuter students (who submit their ID photos by May 31) can pick up their ID cards during commuter check-in before orientation on Sunday, June 19.
