The top SVIA Enterprise co-founder teams will pitch their problem and solution concepts before a panel of angel investors and top Silicon Valley entrepreneurs: Arjun Arora, Dan Gwak, and Tyler Steinke.
Arjun is currently a partner at 500Startups – the most active early stage venture firm in the world. He was a co-founder of Immediately, a mobile platform for modern sales professionals. Prior to Immediately, Arjun was the Chairman and Founder of ReTargeter, which was acquired by Sellpoints in March 2015. As the founding CEO of ReTargeter, Arjun bootstrapped the company to be in the top 100 of Inc’s Fastest Growing Companies list in 2013. He is a recognized expert in display advertising and retargeting, has been interviewed on Bloomberg TV, quoted in the WSJ, and mentioned in Forbes. He was recognized at the White House, the United Nations, and the Global Summit for Entrepreneurship for his success and commitment to a values centered organization.
Previously, Arjun was the head of business development for Yahoo! Real Estate, and he began his career with the international investment bank, Jefferies Broadview. Arjun advises various start-up companies in the Silicon Valley with strategic planning, monetization and funding. He is also an angel investor to multiple companies and a LP at 500 Startups. Arjun graduated from UC Berkeley with degrees in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Entrepreneurship & Technology.
Dan Gwak co-leads Point72 Ventures investment activities in artificial intelligence, machine learning and related technologies. Before joining Point72, Dan was a partner on the Investment Team at In-Q-Tel, the strategic investment firm of the CIA and U.S. Intelligence Community. At In-Q-Tel, Dan focused on enterprise analytics and infrastructure companies whose technologies were impactful to the mission of the U.S. Intelligence Community.
Previously, Dan was an investment banking analyst in the M&A group at Credit Suisse, a private equity associate at The Carlyle Group and a fireteam leader in the United States Marine Corps, where he was awarded the Combat Action Ribbon and Purple Heart for actions in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. Dan has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in Economics from Cornell University.
Tyler Steinke is the innovation and marketing manager of Runway, where he helps corporations remain innovative in a time of disruption by engaging startups for partnership, acquisition, and investment opportunities. Tyler also works with startups to grow, find product/market fit, and connect with the right people.
Prior to joining Runway, Tyler was an account manager at FCB Global, a fully integrated marketing communications company and Chicago’s second largest marketing communications agency. He also started Kotawi Digital, an interactive digital design agency with a personal understanding of today’s emerging trends. Tyler has a B.S. in Business, Marketing and Interactive Media Studies from Miami University (OH).
