Stanford Summer Session invites undergraduate and graduate students from around the world to enroll in courses and earn credit at one the of the most competitive universities in the United States. Students in our program build their own schedules from more than 175 courses offered in 35 departments within the schools of Humanities and Sciences, Earth Sciences, and Engineering. Courses offered feature accessible instructors, small class size, and a diverse student body.

Undergraduate and graduate students may attend Stanford Summer Session as residential or commuting students.

| Application Deadline | The application opens on Monday, January 7. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis through Wednesday, June 19. Students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible |
| Monday, April 1 | Recommended application deadline for international students who require a Stanford sponsored I-20. |
| Wednesday, April 10 | Housing application available on Axess for residential students who have been issued a Stanford ID number. The last day to apply for housing and be guaranteed is May 9, although students who apply after this date will have a high priority for room assignments. |
| Sunday, April 14 | Axess opens for course enrollment. |
| Saturday, June 22 or Sunday, June 23 | Move-in dates for residential students. |
| Monday, June 24 | First day of classes. |
| Monday, June 24 – Saturday, August 17 | Session for eight-week courses. |
| Friday, August 16 and/or Saturday, August 17 | End-Quarter examinations for eight-week courses. See the Summer Quarter Exam Schedule. |
| Sunday, August 18 | Move-out date for eight-week residential students. |
| Monday, June 24 – Friday, August 23 |
Session for nine-week courses (Organic Chemistry and Physics Sequences). |
| Friday, August 23 | End-Quarter examinations for nine-week courses (on last day of class). |
| Saturday, August 24 | Move-out date for nine-week residential students. |

Admission to Stanford Summer Session is open to students who are at least 18 years of age by the start of classes (June 24, 2013), have graduated from high school, and have successfully completed college or university courses following graduation from high school. Those who have already graduated from college or university are also welcome to apply.
