Employment

Stanford Summer Session is a great place to work – and a convenient way to finance your studies.

Internship and Summer Staff Opportunities

House Directors and Summer Resident Assistants

Each year we hire interns to serve as House Directors, and Stanford students to serve as Summer Resident Assistants. House Directors live in the residence, supervise undergraduate staff, plan programs, and have case management responsibilities. You’ll be mentored by the Associate Dean & Director and have access to networking opportunities across Stanford. To learn more, please email Jess Matthews.

Summer Resident Assistants are the backbone of the Summer Session residential staff. Supervised by the House Directors, Summer RAs get the benefit of a staff experience with a shorter time commitment. You’ll also have the chance to work with an exceptionally diverse student population, planning activities and building community. Summer RAs receive free room and board, along with pay. You must be a current Stanford student and must take EDUC 192X: Interpersonal Learning and Leadership, during Spring Quarter.

Summer Tutors

The Summer Tutor Program supports Stanford’s Summer Session and Summer
College in its missions to provide students with a first-rate academic experience by offering accessible and quality academic support services. Tutors design, promote, implement, and evaluate a wide range of academic support programming, in addition to offering regular workshops, group study sessions, drop-in hours, and individual tutoring.

Individual departments hire their own teaching staff for Summer Quarter. If you are a talented professor interested in developing and producing an innovative course, please contact the academic department in which you are interested in teaching.
