Summer Reflections: Becoming the Person I Am Today

by Stephanie Nail

My summer at Stanford was one of the highlights of my academic career. It was a great experience that I hope to revisit someday. I took two graduate-level courses outside my major area, and this really allowed me to see the benefits that can be derived from interdisciplinary research. Throughout my time living and learning at Stanford, I learned a lot about myself, both academically and personally. The academic experience at Stanford is unparalleled. The intellectually stimulating atmosphere, academic community, and level of faculty interaction was unlike anything I had previously encountered at other universities. From the courses I took and the people I met, I gained a better perspective of the world, which allowed me to become the person I am today. Spending the summer at Stanford is an experience that I wouldn’t trade for anything.
