About the Stanford Summer Marketing Team

The Stanford Summer Marketing Team (SSMT) gives currently enrolled Summer Session students the opportunity to tell the story of their summer at Stanford University. We invite anyone interested in writing, blogging, photography, videography, and social media to capture the exciting activities and events occurring every day on and off campus and to further share these experiences with fellow classmates and friends and family back home. Team contributions may also be later used in Stanford Summer Session promotional materials and recruitment efforts to provide interested students a first-hand account of the Stanford Summer Session experience.

Team Member Responsibilities

As a member of the Stanford Summer Marketing Team, you will have a choice to submit content as a (1) writer/ blogger, (2) photographer/videographer, (3) social media contributor, or (4) a mix of these three areas. Meetings will be held approximately every other week and will include a skill development workshop and the opportunity to voluntarily sign up for “assignments” to cover. Once you have covered an activity or event, you are responsible for supplying your content to the Marketing Department of the Summer Session Office. Specific assignment requirements will be further explained once the team has been selected.

Who Should Apply

Confirmed 2016 Stanford Summer Session students are eligible to apply to be a part of the Stanford Summer Marketing Team. You do not need to major in marketing to be a part of this team, as we welcome all majors. We simply ask applicants to have an interest in capturing their experiences at Stanford.

NOTE: Due to the time commitment required for the Silicon Valley Innovation Academy (SVIA) and Stanford 2 to 4 programs, it is not encouraged for students involved in these programs to additionally participate in the Stanford Summer Marketing Team.
