Join a community of students and residential staff that come to Stanford from all over the world, bringing with them a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and experiences to share. Regardless of whether you live on campus as a residential student or live off campus as a commuting student, there will be opportunities at every turn, inviting you to make the most of your summer experience.
A carefully chosen and trained staff of Stanford undergraduate students and Residential Experience professionals live in residence as program Summer Resident Assistants and House Directors. Summer staff provide guidance, supervision, and plan social and extracurricular activities to support student and community development in the residence.

Residential Students
As a residential student, you will stay in a classic undergraduate residence hall. You will most likely have a roommate and you may be placed on co-ed floors. Residence halls have their own laundry facilities and computer clusters. The complexes are organized into houses, and each house has its own lounge and common area. You will eat meals with fellow students in a nearby dining commons.

Commuter Students
If you live nearby, you can attend Summer Session as a commuting student. As a commuter student, you will be able to access the same on-campus facilities and participate in the same extracurricular activities as a residential student. Special programing specifically for commuting students will be offered, connecting you to a larger Bay Area network of students.
