Introduction to Statistical Methods

Techniques for organizing data, computing, and interpreting measures of central tendency, variability, and association. Estimation, confidence intervals, tests of hypotheses, t-tests, correlation, and regression. Possible topics: analysis of variance and chi-square tests, computer statistical packages.

Prerequisite

UG Reqs: GER: DB Math

  • Only graduate students may register for STATS 160. All other students must register for STATS 60.
  • This course is cross-listed as PSYCH 10.
  • This course is offered as part of the Summer Intensive in Computer Science, and qualifies toward the Certificate of Completion in Computer Science.
