Course Description

First lecture class in summer organic intensive designed for those entering the medical field. Introduction to molecular structure and reactivity of functional groups. Explore chemical reactivity in the context of kinetics and thermodynamics.

Course Consideration: Despite this course's catalog number as “CHEM 1,” Organic Chemistry is one of the most intensive courses offered during the Summer Session. To be successful in this course, students should have a strong foundation in Chemistry. If you are looking for a more introductory Chemistry course, please review the course descriptions for CHEM 31A and CHEM 31B.
