Soft Tissue Mechanics

Course Description

ME 387 is a combined lab/lecture course that explores additional/advanced topics in soft tissue mechanics beyond the scope of ME287 (e.g., poroelastic and swelling behaviors of soft tissues, indentation testing for material property analysis, or rheological characterization of biofluids). Students will design and execute original mechanical characterization and/or modeling projects.

  • Grading Basis: Letter Grade
  • Limited Enrollment Details: Class enrollment is limited by the lab capacity and access to shared research/teaching equipment. Enrollment will be by permission of the instructor, with priority given to graduate students who will leverage these topics in ongoing/future research.
