COVID-19 Policies and Procedures

Overview

Stanford has spent the last academic year helping students get through the pandemic. We’ve learned a lot about how to support students who test positive for COVID-19, while also protecting the wider Stanford community. Stanford Summer Session will be utilizing policies and practices that have been well-tested during previous quarters, with the goal of ensuring that students remain healthy and safe while on campus. This includes plans to isolate students  should they test positive. Masks continue to be required in classrooms and on Stanford’s Marguerite buses. We strongly encourage all students to wear masks in other indoor areas, to keep themselves and others safe.

With students coming from almost all 50 states and more than 40 countries around the world, we urge every student to take caution—especially during the initial weeks—to keep our community safe and minimize any disruption to their own academic experience. However, in the event of positive COVID-19 tests, we’re prepared to isolate students, and we’ve outlined some of our policies here. We strongly encourage you to familiarize yourself with them. Whether you are a high school student, undergraduate or graduate student, please focus carefully on the general policies, and particularly the policies relevant to you.
