As we are going into the second half of Stanford Summer Session- High School 2017, I can't help but feel mixed emotions. Very simply, this summer has been the greatest. Though I am dreading my flight home in a few short weeks, this program has left me terribly excited for what the future college experience will have in store.
This quarter I've chosen to take a Principles of Economics class as well as an Environmental Science & Technology one. It has been eye-opening to learn alongside such motivated and enthusiastic classmates as the lectures ventured far beyond anything available to me in a high school setting. Help is so readily available through office hours or tutoring and it really minimises our worrying and leaves so much more time for learning. Experiencing these classes have really helped me to streamline my passions and I will go back to high school with a more focused idea of what I want to pursue in the future.
Throughout this summer I've gained this great sense of independence from being away from home and also from having to schedule and figure things out on my own. I think that will be invaluable to me as I progress through high school and am so glad that Stanford Summer Session- High School provides so much opportunity for growth and development while also making sure we're always happy and healthy!
