We expect visiting students to have knowledge that is equivalent to the listed Stanford pre-requisite course.

Students must be able to play a par 5 using multiple clubs while performing 4 different types of shots (drive, approach, chip/pitch, and putt). Students will be asked to verbally state the rules of golf, as well as be able to explain the flight laws and how to curve a ball left and right. Students will be asked to explain the various ways to keep score and how to use the different scoring formats. Finally, students will demonstrate centerness of contact on at least one out of every five shots with a 7-iron.

Description:

This course allows students to further develop their golf game by engaging in various golf drills and the opportunity to practice all facets of golf. Students will learn how to lower scores and manage the game on the course. This course will utilize class discussions, class assignments, and student participation to enable students to: (1) Understand basic components of skill-related and health-related physical fitness, (2) Develop physical fitness and motor skills, and (3) Gain knowledge to make intelligent choices that contribute to a healthy, active lifestyle.
