Live nearby? You can attend Summer Session as a commuter student. Join a community of students and staff that come to Stanford from all over the world, bringing with them a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and experiences to share.
Resources
- Access the same on-campus facilities—from libraries to health and wellness centers—as a residential student.
- Attend programming connecting you to a larger Bay Area network of students.
- Connect with staff dedicated to supporting the needs of commuter students.
Undergraduate commuter students* take a minimum of 3 units.
High School commuter students* take a minimum of 5 units.
*Stanford courses range from 2-5 units. All students must take a minimum of 8 units if they require an I-20 from Stanford.

Residential or Commuter
