Living on campus allows you to fully immerse yourself in what some of our students have called, "the Stanford lifestyle." Walk or bike to class, meet new people in the dining hall, and enjoy myriad social activities organized around your dorm cohort.
Residential students* must take a minimum of 8 units (two to three courses).
*Residential graduate students may take fewer than 8 units as long as they don’t require an I-20 from Stanford.
Regardless of whether you live on campus as a Residential student or live off campus as a Commuter, there will be opportunities at every turn, inviting you to make the most of your summer experience. Trying to decide which option is right for you?
"I was doing sports every morning and living an even healthier and more productive lifestyle. Every morning once the outdoor pool opened, my friends and I went for exhausting swim sessions."
Summer Session provides academic support every step of the way, from pre-summer through final exams. Our Summer Academic Resource Center offers Academic Advising, Tutoring, and Workshops to ensure you won't be going it alone.
Go beyond the classroom with speaker events, field trips, faculty teas, campus lab and site visits and more!
"I enjoyed meeting new people and living in a dorm with tons of fun events. The new thing I tried was sharing a room! I’m an only kid and it’s so fun to have a roomie."
