Summer Academic Resource Center (SARC)

SARC offers free academic support services including tutoring and academic advising to visiting and matriculated Stanford students enrolled in the University’s summer quarter.

Going to SARC is a great way to stay ahead of the game – most of our students say they wish they had visited SARC earlier in the quarter!

Available to all Summer Session students

Confirmed students will automatically be enrolled into the SARC Canvas page by the beginning of summer quarter. You can access tutoring by booking one-on-one appointments in advance or by visiting in-person drop-in tutoring hours.

Academic support services are available to all students enrolled in Stanford’s Summer Quarter free of charge.

Summer Academic Advising

Get help with course selection and requirements, drop/add procedures, selecting and changing of grading options, course withdrawal and annulment processes, and the academic petitions associated with each of these areas.

Summer Tutoring

Whether you're fine-tuning a paper, preparing for an exam, or just wanting a fresh perspective, tutors are here for you. Access tutoring by booking one-on-one appointments in advance or by visiting in-person drop-in tutoring hours.

Dive in to a topic of interest or discover a new one. Come with a growth mindset and develop your academic skills with us.

Services for Non-native English Speakers / ESL Students

Non-native English speakers can find specialized ESL-focused writing sessions and workshops available to address their specific needs.

Your Touch Down Space

Whether you need a place to recharge between classes, or just an outlet to charge your phone, we got you covered. SARC is your go to spot to connect with other Summer Session students, especially for commuters!

Our mission

Our mission is to support students for the Stanford Summer Quarter curriculum. Summer tutoring does not offer SAT, ACT, GRE, or other standardized test tutoring.

Stanford matriculated students should contact their respective graduate and undergraduate advisors for Summer Quarter advising.
