Academic Support

At Summer Session, you won't be going it alone.

Summer Session provides academic support every step of the way, from pre-summer through final exams.

My most important takeaway was learning about the Stanford community. The mentors and tutors were all so supportive of our journey. Everyone was so understanding and I really appreciated that about the Stanford community. I think that it's a wonderful environment to learn in. Even though it was virtual, I could still feel it emanating from my screen.

Academic Advising

Summer Session Academic Advising is available in the spring to help you explore your academic interests, select courses and understand prerequisites, and build your schedule. During the summer, Advising can assist you with adding or dropping courses, selecting and changing grading options, course withdrawal and annulment processes, and the academic petitions associated with each of these areas. Advising also offers guidance about your goals and academic progress during the summer.

Tutors

Stanford graduate student tutors facilitate by-appointment and drop-in sessions. Tutors also administer weekly academic workshops in topics including the personal essay, coding in R and MatLAB, time management, and college research. Panel discussions provide insight on different academic or career paths.

Learn more about Academic Advising and Tutoring through the Summer Academic Resource Center (SARC).

Peer-to-Peer Support

Summer Resident Assistants and Mentors serve as student guides and Stanford ambassadors for your summer experience. As Stanford undergraduates, they know Stanford well and are ready to share their perspectives and experiences through one-on-one check-ins, small group meetings, and student panels. They will connect you to all the resources Stanford has to offer, including Tutors and Academic Advising, and will keep you in-the-know about summer events and activities.
