Other Summer Opportunities

  • Hopkins Marine Station

    An immersive five-week course in kelp forest ecology and conservation. The course is open to students in any major and consists of daily scuba dives, lectures, and labs. Students must be Advanced scuba-certified and must provide scuba equipment.

  • English for Foreign Students (EFS)

    The Stanford Language Center administers the English for Foreign Students (EFS) program, which offers intensive courses to international students in English as a second language (ESL).

  • American Language and Culture (ALC)

    Run by the EFS and VIA, a non-profit organization based at Stanford promoting US-Asia international education, this program combines daily English-language classes with educational field trips, lectures, and panel discussions aimed at exploring contemporary American culture.
