For Gap Year, Undergraduate, and Graduate Students
We've identified several courses that successfully deliver the Stanford experience in a completely virtual setting. Some are asynchronous with regular office hours, while others meet live online. You can pursue research, travel opportunities, or an internship, and take Stanford courses from anywhere in the world.
How to Apply
Complete the regular application and check "online" as your housing status. You will only be eligible to enroll in online courses.
Costs
Stanford University sets tuition rates for students in all quarters, including summer. Summer tuition rates are the same for visitors and matriculated Stanford students, whether they study online or in person. Online students will pay the Application Fee, Document Fee, and a Student Support Fee of $125. The Campus Health Services Fee is not required for online students.

The online program has its own unique advantages that are too valuable to ignore. Considering that our student body lives around the globe, the option to take Stanford courses completely online is quite an attractive option when it comes to both convenience of access and cost.
